Professor Parrenas is the author of Servants of Globalization: Women, Migration, and Domestic Work (2001, Stanford University Press), Children of Global Migration (2005, Stanford University Press), Asian Diasporas: New Formations, New Conceptions (2007, Stanford University Press), and Illicit Flirtations: Labor, Migration, and Sex Trafficking in Tokyo (2011, Stanford University Press). Her current main research interest is unfree labor, especially in the Middle East.
